Washington Hunting & Fishing Licenses

 Anyone who desires to go fishing or hunting in Washington State must purchase a license. For your convenience, you can purchase both licenses at our office. 

Fishing & Shell Fishing Licenses

Anyone ages 15 and older who wants to go fishing or shell fishing must have a license in their possession to avoid any fines unless you are fishing for common carp, crawfish, bullfrogs or collecting relic shells. 


There are several types of licenses available and prices vary. They are:

  

  • Freshwater license
  • Saltwater license
  • Combination license
  • 1-3 Day Combination licenses
  • Razor Clam license
  • Fish Washington license


 Please note: If you’re fishing for salmon, steelhead, sturgeon, halibut or Puget Sound Dungeness crab, you need to track your harvest, even those who are under the age of 15 using the catch record card. 

Fishing License Pricing & Requirements

Pricing varies per permit and residency status. To qualify as a Washington State resident, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Live within the state 90 days preceding the license purchase
  • Washington State government issued identification
  • Not licensed to fishing in another state

Hunting License

All hunters, despite age, must have a hunting licensing to hunt wildlife. There are several types of licenses available and prices vary. They are:

  • Big game hunting
  • Small game hunting
  • Special hunt permits and raffles
  • Field trial 
  • Hunt contest 
  • Free National and State Guard hunting license
  • Special trapping permit for a nuisance wildlife problem
  • Falconry in Washington

Hunting License Pricing & Requirements

Pricing varies per permit and residency status. Please bring the following:

  • Social security number (age 15 and older)
  • Proof of the Hunter education class completed
  • Government issued identification
